Vale - Robert Marwe

Adelaide Croatia Raiders extends its deepest condolences to the Marwe family, on the passing of past player and coach - Robert Marwe.

Rob came to Adelaide Croatia as lanky teenager and actually played his first senior game at only 16 years of age. He never played a Reseves game in his entire career - only Senior football and went on to become one of the most decorated players in the club's history.

He played for Adelaide Croatia for 13 seasons and went on to play approx 350 games. Rob had a two year stint at Adelaide City and played one year at West Adelaide during the old NSL competition. He also represented South Australia in the State team playing against high profile Greek league teams - Olymipiacos and Panathinaikos.

His heart was always with Adelaide Croatia and in 1989 he coached during the pre-season Ampol Cup going on to beat West Adelaide in the Final.

Rob played during the club's glory days winning Championships in 1980, 1984 & 1988. He coached the senior team in 1996, played in many Australia & New Zealand Croatian Soccer Tournaments right across the country including the 1984 Championship win in Mildura. Rob was inducted into the Croatian Soccer Association of Australia Hall of Fame in 2019 for his outstanding contribution to Adelaide Croatia.

Rob always stayed close to the club and was honoured during the 50th, 60th, and 70th Anniversaries. He is deservedly considered a legend of the club and will be remembered with great admiration.

A memorial service will be held at The Pavilion Prospect at North Adelaide Football Club. Wednesday 14 January at 10:30am.

Pocivao u Miru Bozjem. Rest in Peace Rob Marwe.

Vale - Nenad Sosa

Adelaide Croatia Raiders extends its deepest condolences to the Sosa family, on the passing of Nenad Šoša.

Nenad was the ultimate 'club man'. He started with Adelaide Croatia as a Junior, progressed up through the ranks playing seniors during the golden era of the late 80's and early 90's. After his playing career ended, he took up Junior Coaching throughout the 2000's - helping the club develop and set a new standard for its Junior program as it moved to the new homeground at Gepps Cross. Nenad continued to stay closely involved with club over many years holding various committee roles.

Most recently Nenad took on the responsibility of main grounds keeper for the playing fields and was instrumental in developing and maintaining our Pitch 1 into a world-class natural turf pitch for the FIFA Women's World Cup of 2023. His care and dedication to it still evident today as a legacy for current and future players to enjoy.

More important than any of his achievements for the club however was the type of person he was. Nenad was kind, he was always happy and smiling, always willing to help without hesitation in whatever task or role was required. He was a true gentleman of complete integrity and a dear friend to many.

Nenad's contribution and dedication to our club was immense, and without it, we wouldn't be where we are today - thank you Nenad.

On behalf of the entire Adelaide Croatia Raiders community our deepest sympathies go to Dragica, Tom, Marcus and Michael and all the extended Šoša families.

Pocivao u Miru Bozjem. Rest in Peace Nenad Šoša.

Vale - Josip 'Joza' Blazeka

Adelaide Croatia Raiders extends its deepest condolences to the Blazeka family, on the passing of Josip ‘Joza’ Blazeka.

Joza was a dedicated, long term club member, supporter and extremely hard working volunteer.

On match days, picnics and major functions his smiling face was always found where he was happiest - in the back kitchen cooking area with his old time friends...sharing a drink, sharing a joke and above all, making sure the food was prepared and cooked to perfection.

Joza was a Foundation and Life Member of the Croatian Sports Centre SA and he loved contributing to our community, nothing was too difficult for him and he always did what ever was required with great pride, humility and good humour.

Joza's contribution and dedication to our club will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Thank you Joza for everything you have done for our club & community over so many years.

Pocivao u Miru Bozjem. Rest in Peace Joza Blazeka.
