Congratulations!
Monica Maric (Adelaide)
Miss Croatia Australia & New Zealand 2010
We'd like to congratulate our very own Miss Croatia Adelaide 2010 - Monica Maric on taking out the hotly contested title of MISS CROATIA AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND 2010 at the recent 36th Annual Australian & New Zealand Croatian Soccer Tournament held for the first time off Australian shores in Auckland, New Zealand.
Monica has been an exceptional ambassador of the Adelaide Croatia Raiders Soccer Club, supporting the main committee during the season, raising awareness and funds for the Club. She's also an active member of the Croatian Sports Centre as a teacher at the Croatian Language School.
Congratulations and Well Done Monica!

President's End of Season Report
President - Alan VrbanacAdelaide Croatia Raiders played their final game of the season against Cumberland United which attracted a bumper crowd to the Croatian Sports Centre. The main reason being that the day’s result would decide the club’s fate for 2011 after being in a relegation battle for the majority of the season. Luckily a draw was enough to see the club survive in the FFSA Super League by just 1 point, this led to some fairly intense celebrations that went on well into the night (check out the photo gallery).
The season itself had countless setbacks and frustrations, yet it should never be forgotten and serve as a reminder that this club is too strong and too proud to ever allow such a thing to happen again. We need to find that hunger and passion that says to us “only the best will do”.
After all, we are the Croatian Sports Centre and a central focus should always be to represent the Croatian Community with integrity through it’s football. In saying that, 2011 is looking promising.
The arrival of John Kosmina late in the season saw a 180 degree turnaround in player attitudes and enthusiasm. It is imperative that the club retains John for next year and starts to rebuild the team to its former glory. I know that we can do it, and with the support of the Croatian Sports Centre, it will be achieved.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our hardworking volunteers throughout the season. There are never enough people to help around the club but we are lucky to have some very dedicated volunteers who are always willing to put their hands up and do the extra work to make this club a great one.
As well as this, I would sincerely like to thank our Sponsors, namely Tudor Pavers, Davalan Concrete, Maka Spiralduct, Regency Building Supplies, United Workforce, Grange Dental, Austria Meat and Skara Smallgoods. Without the help of these generous sponsors, this club could not exist. Thank You!
For now, lets look forward to the tournament in New Zealand, we’ll take over a strong squad which I think has a great chance of retaining the title. We can’t wait to get to Auckland and enjoy what we know will be a fantastic Soccer tournament hosted by our kiwi neighbours. We hope to see you all there!
Regards
Alan Vrbanac
